We enjoyed the breezy wander around an array of market stalls, music and a fascinating look at the iconic Volvo Ocean Race. This is recommended for all sailing enthusiasts and people who have never stepped on a boat due as it is interesting to see what lengths people will go when they have so much passion. Inspirational.
What a treat this was. Take some time and visit this museum, entry was free and there are so many interesting facts to learn about the race over all the years it has taken place. Thought that the shop was a little disappointing as I could not find a little something that I thought would be useful to buy as... More
I didn't expect much as I've never followed the Ocean race, yet this turned out to be my favorite museum in Alicante. It doesn't matter if you know anything - or care about sailing - this place is worth checking out. Lots of interactive stuff, incredible amount of information and great photos from the past years.
I'm not really into yachts but I found this really interesting. Lots of information and interactive displays. Free to get in.
This place is great The story of the Ocean race with lots of pictures and a Ocean Race Boat It leaves you wondering how did they do it Also it's a lovely walk down by the Melia Hotel and go back through by the Marina
Its free and at the end of a beautiful marina and well worth a visit to see how difficult it is to sail in a yacht race around the world. You can easily spend a hour playing with interactive exhibits learning to sail a yacht and then sit down to watch a splendid film showing the crew leaning overboard in... More
We really enjoyed out vist here. Staff were friendly and helpful. The race is celebrating it's 40th birthday this year and during our visit there was a stunning photographic exhibition which is well worth seeing.Upstairs ther is a restuarant where you can get a coffee or a drink etc. Entry to the museum is free.
The museum is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The staff were friendly and before you enter they give you a little explanation about the museum, which we found useful. It is small but the kids were intrigued, there's a lot of hands on things, with model sized boats and trophies on show.
