There are interesting exhibitions in the museum. It was fun visiting, but nothing special. It is well suited for curious people, and teenagers. For a regular tourist, it is not worthy.

We were disappointed to learn that we had missed seeing ASIMO's show (daily at 11.00 and 14.00 I believe), however he was gracious enough to wave at us when we approached to say hello.
There are some pretty impressive (and interactive) exhibits to wander around, I particularly liked getting tacked through a human/computer interaction area where my 'Me' grew and...

I was so much looking forward to this, and was so disappointed. Nothing is up to date. The only robot they showcased at the time I was there (1 hour before closing time) was the Aibo (Sony's "e-dog"), which hasn't even been on sale for the past 5-10 years. It's basically an antique when it comes to the world of...

Overall it was a poor experience.
There are 2 floors & the theatre for 600 yen. then theres the first floor exhibition center which cost an additional 400 yen. I didnt go here as it was an exhibition about managing money.
The two floors contain very little displays compared to the floor size.
Most exhibits have children smashing handles and...

Asimo show goes for about 15mins. All conducted in Japanese but it is not a problem. Cute robot walking around on the stage. Recommended to families with children or young couple.
Exhibits and interactive devices include English alongside Japanese, so English-speakers will get just as much out of the exhibits. (The volunteers at the entrance speak English well, but through the rest of the museum it's hit-or-miss. But it's not a big deal.) There are exhibits on space, robots, climate and environment. The exhibits are not dumbed down, and unlike at...

What I like there:
*) Real bathyscaphe which was at 6500 meters. You can go inside and sit there in the small cabin, go around it.
*) Some of the volunteers speaks English just enough for your pleasure that you eventually found somebody in Japan who knows the words "how", "work" and "why" and even could say something in English....

We had a little trouble finding this without a guide book, map or roaming internet access (this app is very handy being off line but short on details!) so if you end up in the same situation... Get yourself to Shimbashi on the Ginza line then head above ground to the Yurikamome line and get off at Fune-no-kagakukan station. A...

The best science museum I've ever been to! Quite advanved and up-to-date information made fun and interactive. Really enjoyed it!
Pretty nice museum, just not suited to me. There was a lot to see, and they've put a lot of effort into it. And I'm pretty sure a 10 year old would love it. Just a little too gee-whiz for me, and a lot of stuff I'd already heard about.
