We took part in a tour whilst this pottery is undergoing refurbishment (hard hats and high viz jackets provided!). Booking is essential, as only six people allowed per tour, at a suggested donation of £5 each. Our guide from the Prince's Regeneration Trust was knowledgeable, but also so charmingly enthusiastic. The workers in the pottery were friendly and welcomed our... More

Really good chance to take in how the old pot banks used to be. Still do tissue printing here which is unique to the Potteries. Fantastic setting. Will only get better now heritage funding has started. Quirky shop with local old school fixtures and friendly staff. Fire going in colder months so you can sit and enjoy a cuppa and... More

We own a guest House and one of our visitors was working at Middleport Pottery. We have in the past seen places that say you are able to visit the factory but when we have looked the leaflets don't as yet publicise it. The guest assured us that you are able to visit so we booked over the telephone. It... More

I was told by one of the staff that this is the only remaining place in Stoke-on-Trent where visitors can watch a piece of clay enter one side of the factory and leave the exit end of the factory as an artistic piece of ceramic ware. Pictures in the shop of royal visitors to the factory and I can imagine... More

We did not have time to take a factory tour, but a visit to the factory shop was very interesting. They make some of my favorite pottery. We saw all the pottery currently being produced - many patterns. Their small parking lot was full but we easily found parking on a nearby street.

An original pottery in the original building. Some of the best domestic ranges available and made in front of your eyes. Not a far eastern hand to be seen. Wonderful experience to see crockery still being made as it was years ago and keeping jobs in Britain. The shop is wonderful with original factory features and discounted items for sale,... More
