We had a lovely tour of this Chateau. I speak French but my wife and the other couple with us do not. The tour person was able to give some excellent explanations. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, even worth a 30 minute diversion.

The facility is in excellent condition and beautiful in all aspects. Well worth a visit. It was not crowded when I was there, which is a blessing. As they say, I's good to be King. but Rochepot was just your ordinary nobility, and it's interesting to see how these nobles lived.
... gave the visit a somewhat retro feel. It's hill side setting is an imposing site as you approach the chateau from the town. And that's what it was all about.
It's a nice stroll around the court yard and living quarters, but the tour is special, especially our guide. A young french girl in pink... loving what she is...

Fell on this Château by chance.Entrance is 8.50 Euros per person. This includes a very decent guided tour. The place is beautiful and is well worth the stopover.
A beautiful chateau, located on the side of a hill in a mysterious forest. It has 2 drawbridges and one has to knock on the old door to gain entry into the castle. The views from the castle are fantastic, and you can access all parts of the castle. A guided tour of the internal rooms is in French, but...

The Chateau de la Rochepot is a beautiful castle and town on the scenic drive south of Beaune. It's a nice stop, but you do not need to take the whole day. If the weather is nice, you might consider packing a picnic and finding a place at one of the many scenic overlooks or even at the chateau itself.
Walking across the drawbridge was the opening experience to our visit. Several knocks on the old oak??? door initiated our entry to this wonderfully preserved chateau. Before the tour began we were given about twenty minutes to wander around, climb the stairs and take in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Once the bell rang we were ready for the conducted tour....

Spectacular approach from the little road to the east, intriguing roof line. Marvellous drawbridge entrances. All restored early 20th century - and guides don't mention much of what happened before that. Parts of the chateau you go round first unguided, up towers, and then guided visit, including kitchen. It's for sale!
The Chateau is well worth the visit and the few Euros entry fee. The tour was informative and presented in French, but the guide helped explain the features in several languages. The Chateau itself is well preserved and the views from the gardens of the fall countryside are stunning. Plan on an hour visit, and be certain to follow the...

This is a nice castle to visit on a sunny day. The tour is only in French though. There are some information sheets in English and the guides do speak English but not for the tour.
