Our trip to Dry Tortugas was awesome! The island is gorgeous and time is easily filled with exploring the fort, swimming, and snorkeling. We took the boat and found it comfortable and the staff helpful. The seas were a little rougher on the way back, so I'd have a little Dramamine on hand. Definitely worth the day trip!

A beautiful place. A lot of history & so many red bricks. Very remote 70 miles west of Key West. Only way to reach is by boat or plane. A beautiful place to snorkel with big Brown Pelicans dropping by to eat right beside you. This was my second time to visit & I'm ready to do it again.

We went to the Dry Tortugas - and we camped (see other review) The Fort is a great place to visit. The architecture of the Fort is truely amazing considering everything had to be brought in. If you are camping on the island, be sure to walk around the fort at different times of the day, as there are great... More

Fort Jefferson is a fascinating view into history. Oddly, the unfinished Fort helps visitors understand how challenging it must have been to live and work on Dry Tortugas. We went over on the Yankee Freedom out of Key West. Rangers with the National Park Service do not give tours but members of the boat crew did. Rangers were available and... More

Took the seaplane because it is faster but a little more expensive than the ferry but worth it. The Fort is very interesting and the beaches are beautiful. It makes for a great day.

History and beauty collied. We snorkeled around the whole island, tons of fishys. The Fort itself is incredible. The fact that they could build something this magnificent way back then is mind boggling. You need a whole day for this one.

Study as much history as you can before going, The time is short when you get there unless you are camping. Had a nice visit to Dry Tortugas National Park this year with my daughter. The ride out was a little rough with the wind chop. However this was only for about an hour. After that we had the anticipation... More

-took the Yankee Freedom ferry which had great service and knowledgeable staff who led tours of the fort with lots of intriguing details about the history -beaches are beautiful and uncrowded due to remote location -snorkeling is good if you know where to look (try around the north coal ruins on the corner of the rock wall by the north... Our family (2 kids, ages 10 and 8) camped on Garden Key for 3 nights/4 days. It was the best camping of my life! Gorgeous, quiet, peaceful, warm, calm and fascinating. We drove from Orlando and passed up Disney World (I've never been) for this vacation spot. Totally worth it! I can't wait to go back!
