Really cool fort! Hard to imagine building that back in those days. Very friendly workers. The view from above is gorgeous!! My kids enjoyed this.

Didn't stay at campground, but drove through for memory's sake because my husband & I used to camp there. Still not recovered from Ivan (2004) much less shade, but I remember the boardwalk out to isolated lovely beach...it's still there. Also, has a store and laundry near campground

The sand is so white that it's almost like snow and the water is a beautiful blue and green. We fished for a few hours but no one on the pier caught anything. The locals said that this was unusual. The old fort has some very large cannons and the missing corner shows a lot about how it was constructed.... More

Had a great time here. Lots to see and lots to understand. There is a self guided tour. I would recommend if you need to get out of the sun for awhile. It isn't air conditioned, but the brick keeps the inside very cool.

This was not really my cup of tea, to be honest, but I could see where it is definitely worth a stop if you are interested in military history. Plan to bring a bottle of water and some good walking shoes, as there are some just slightly uneven surfaces and steps if you choose to go up to the top... More

We took the directed tour and really enjoyed it. We saw a lot of interesting artifacts and learned a lot about the early military history of the Pensacola area. It's definitely worth the visit. Make sure you also go through the museum - located on the Fort property but located in a separate building.

We go here every time we visit Pensacola Beach. It's an amazing place full of beauty and history. It's easy to imagine the way things were when the fort was in use. Remarkable architecture and craftsmanship for its time. We enjoy watching the Blue Angles practice over the fort. Make sure to stick around to watch the sunset!

We enjoyed touring the Fort and grounds. Recommend seeing the video first as it was very detailed and interesting. Several of the rangers have published books on Fort Pickens and signed the copies we purchased.

History buff or not, you have to appreciate a good tour guide who can tell some great stories. If you visit this park, definitely make sure you hook up with a free tour. The history of the place is incredible, and you'll leave with a lot of great anecdotes to tell your family and friends. The views from Fort Pickens... More
