Picked up from hotel at 6 am and taken to markets in Jimbaran for an in depth look at spices and to meet chicken lady who was just gorgeous. Then off to fish markets for some shopping know how and to view some interesting species. Back to cooking school for a Balinese breakfast in charming surroundings. We got into it with... More

I convinced my teenage son to join me and we are both glad I did. Our day began at 6am being collected from our hotel, picked up some other people on the way then we were off to Jimbaran Markets. First stop was to collect the veggies and meat. Really interesting to see how the locals shop. Then off to... More

My friend and I really enjoyed the day. The staff have thought of everything and the banquet lunch was excellent. It may not to be everyones liking as many questions and challenges are given to the way that you personally cook. Every cooking school is very different and this adds to the experience.

This restaurant has great reputation on the Internet and among the local people, I believe, since the front desk of Jeri Menari also recommended it to me. Luckily it turned out to be better than my expectation. Lunch set is delicious and a little more for two persons, and mango juice tastes good. If you want to have dinner there,... More

The place is great, staff friendly and they give you flower at your ear at the entrance. But for me who love food with strong taste, the food here consider tasteless. we order the couple set with satay and chicken betutu.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday in Bali. Heinz and his team create a very entertaining day, starting with an early morning visit to the local market where local foods are bought to eat later at breakfast. There is also a fascinating stop at the fish market in Jimbarin. The food that is cooked is fabulous and... More

My new husband and I are on our honeymoon here in Bali and we keep getting blown away by the amazing talents of the food and culture here. However, if you're looking for a completely unique, lively and educational spin to Balinese cuisine, I would definitely recommend this cooking school and restaurant. In the early morning you go with a... More

Hail Heinz, his staff and the team at Bumbu Bali. This is the best cooking school my wife and I have attended - the highlight of our Bali trip. We have attended schools in nearly every part of Asia, but we learned more about food and cooking techniques that are adaptable across all cuisines than any other we have attended,... More

The pamphlet said "Fascinating hand on culture workshop" however the guide did all the cooking and we just watched. The details in the booklet of recipes were incorrect and we had to constantly make changes. It was a very boring morning - the only good thing was the guide was a very good cook and we were able to sample... More
