This was a rough ride in our little rental car. Once we found the right road to the park gate, we took the long route around the northern most reaches of the island. The scenery in Bonaire is arid and harsh. Kind of like riding around sections of the big island in Hawaii except you are standing on dead coral... More

But unfortunately I was driving so I couldn't just wake up 90 minutes later once we arrived at something to see. If you get motion sick, don't bother - the road will invite you to hurl. THe waves were high, I got pulled under and cut my leg on a sharp rocks. IMHO, not worth my time and my injury.

We entered the park and decided to take the long route........2 1/2 hours....mistake! With map in hand we checked out each spot....blow holes, playas, bocas, old structures, salt ponds, and a small natural spring with a decaying dead goat in it! The road was rough, with pot holes, cactus, and a few goats and lizards. We checked out the location... More

We have been to the park several times. The roads are dirt tracks and are fun to drive around and there are some beautiful and interesting points around both the short and long routes. There are some lovely sandy beaches which are normally empty and some great dive sites on the west coast. This is a great place to spot... More

This is not for the weak at hart. Most of the roads are unpaved and have potholes. You have to drive slow and when you commit there is no way out. You have 2 paths you can take. The long path takes about 2.5 hours. There are some nice picture ops but you need to be advised that you can... More

In my opinion, this should be the number 1 attraction in Bonaire. If your staying around town it is a drive thru various terrain. Nothing a rental pick up truck cant handle. Get to the park as early as possible because the beaches close in the afternoon. Rangers will come around and notify you. You will not regret taking this... More

This dive site is in the national park (take the short route if you only want to dive and not see the complete park!!), There is a small resturant, picnic area and beach at this part of the park. It was an interesting dive with plenty to see

The Park is a day trip which all too many folks skip due to requiring nearly a full day to cover. At the end there is a great little rest station and restaurant. One lovely lady handles it all and makes a great lunch. The fish sandwich is great, the croquets delicious and I hope the goat stew comes back.... More

We finished up the long route here and I checked out the snorkeling - I would recommend other spots in the park over this one for better snorkeling but it was fun playing in the waves as this place definitely had some wave action happening. Then we sat outside under a shade hut and ate food we'd brought with us... More

On our day of de-bubbling before going home, we spent the entire day driving around here.do start with the little museum that explains why the marine life of Bonaire is so amazing.
