Like a local, i can tell you you will enjoy the place. It´s a very unique area in Santo Domingo. Take the train and walk around the “jardín chino”. Go!

The garden is far from the city. Any taxi charges you USD 25 to get there and USD 25 to get you back. The ticket is another USD 5 each person. There is a train ride inside that leads you nowhere. And it is not that beautiful. Feels like a touristic trap.
Good variety of domestic and foreign plant species. Well kept and clean area. Easiest vandered around by the turist train.

There is an entrance fee, which includes...

Fresh air and beautiful nature amidst a hectic city. too far to walk unless you have good footgear and can stand the heat. The train is easy to go around but pity that it is motorized so you can't hear the birds singing and also you don't get the time to stand still and enjoy. Ideal would be to explore...
