The decision to go to Mayfield Falls was spur of the moment. I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. The drive was on country roads winding through hill communities. We encountered only two other tourist couples and had a fantastic time enjoying the pools and cool, sweet water.

Loved going up to the falls and just being able to sit under it. One of the guides who were there noticed that I was having problems keeping my balance because I didn't have water shoes on so he walked beside me holding my arm to keep me balanced and kept encouraging me to keep going as well as to... Our walk across the bamboo bridge, and hiked up the hill and down to the very steep drop to the river. On stepping into the cold river water approx 3.40pm was very refreshing, despite arriving from 11.20am. Our 2 guides were very good and helpful in ensuring that we all managed the climb and cross the river, as we head... More

We had a hard time deciding which of the falls to visit on our vacation to Negril. We narrowed it down to YS and Mayfield, but in the end decided to go to Mayfield because it was a bit closer. Thank goodness we did! This did not feel like an overcrowded tourist attraction. First, the drive to Mayfield Falls from... More

On are way to Mayfield falls the ride threw the villages was awesome and beautiful. We saw wild goats and allot of cultural. When we got to the falls we started with an alcoholic beverage. We started are tour crossing a bamboo bridge. The mountains, the falls, the tour guy, the wild life and plant life was awesome. Bring water... More

We really loved this excursion - great diversion from sitting on the beach and by the pool. We were warned about the drive from Montego Bay, and it was far, FAR worse than we could have imagined - the road is nearly impassible and nearly wrecked our poor driver Stanley's van. But once we were there, it was terrific. Our... More

I think a review of this place is really based on past experiences. My husband and I have experienced some pretty amazing waterfalls and water exploring walks. This place is pretty average. It costs $15 pp and you are given a guide. You should be physically active to hike up the falls and traverse the waterways. The guide that we... More

I wasn't blown away by Mayfield Falls but it was something different to do and it was nice. We enjoyed learning about the plants/trees/foliage. Water was cold. Lunch was good. Did not like that we could not bring our camera (instead of 'hey, at your own risk'), did not like that we had to pay $500J to rent cheap "water... More

Mayfield falls was an amazing nature hike up river, in the water to small falls and pools along the way. It is a moderate level hike, steep in some areas, loose rock and slippery spots. If you go on this adventure you should be ready to hike a fair distance and swimming in the river is fun. We visted in... More

Jamaica's natural beauty, in many ways, is defined by its waterfalls. Each one has it own characteristics, all are beautiful but none look the same. Dunns River in St. Anns, YS Falls in St. Elizabeth, Reich and Sommerset Falls in Portland were on my resume but one I had never seen until this year was Mayfield Falls deep in the... More
