This gate is a very scenic spot with a lot of history. There are a lot of pirate stories about this place.

We were in Old San Juan and figured this was a must see. The area is beautiful and taking a walk along the water is perfect. I highly recommend strolling around this area for a few hours.

An awesome piece of history, exceptionally well preserved and quite a sight to see. You have to pay to get into the forts, but the gates are free

This was one of the places me and my partner had just ran into. It is absolutely breathtaking beyond the wall and the historical significance makes it an interesting sight

The walk along the promenade was very nice. The gate is just ok but it's worth entering the old city this way.

The walk around the perimeter of the island near Old San Juan was great to see the history some 400 years old.

We set out walking through San Juan on our first day, and came across the San Juan Gate. The view is terrific from the gate and there are placards along the path explaining San Juan's historic past.

It was a pretty walk to get there and the street that leads up from it into old town but the gate itself if just a gate. If you have high expectations for this landmark, you'll be disappointed. Though, for all those fellow history buffs, the story behind it is more interesting than the gate.

This entrance is just beyond the large fountain with the dolphins,also a short distance from Paseo de la Princesa where an historical church has a great courtyard with religious statues. Again the actual gateway is just a small tunnel but historical non the less.
