Quaint beach near Castries Airport. Unrightfully underrated. If you're in Castries, this is a beach worth visiting.
A 'local' beach right next to the airport, this was very convenient and felt thoroughly safe. The beach itself has a gentle break good for bodysurfers. Located on the beach front are also several food/beverage carts selling everything from beer to fried chicken.
I've been to most of the public beaches in st Lucia and for some reason Vigie gets overlooked. Just pull up off the road, park under the shady mangroves, have a swim, and watch the planes take off 100 feet away. If you're not in a beachfront hotel you may have to walk all the way around the airport runway to access the beach. It's a longer walk than it first appears and is not scenic.
