I really enjoyed the climb. The climb was very hard and I been going to the gym trying to train for this. Th experience was great but I thought I was going to die. I asked the tour guide if anyone has ever died. He said yes last month a guy died from a heart attack I can totally see... More

We went on what you might call an 'unofficial' tour (we made friends with a guy in Rodney Bay whose nephew was a regular up the Pitons) so can't comment on the guides that apparently hang around near the base but can comment on the walk - wow. It is hard! I am not exactly athletic but am of reasonable... More

This is definitely worth viewing while on the Island. We chose to see it from the water, approaching it on a catamaran day trip. SO glad we chose this option. As an amateur photographer, this provided a great opportunity to capture a different view of the pitons. It also was the perfect trip which also included visiting the town of... More

This hike is difficult to advise on : if you're hopelessly unfit or overweight, forget it; but if you take regular exercise including some walking and/running then you should get to the top without too much difficulty. It is a 2 hour steady trek mainly at steep gradients with boulders and tree roots underfoot for much of the way. There... More

We did the Climb the Pitons tour thru Island Routes on a recent trip to the beautiful island of St Lucia. We stayed at Sandals Grande St Lucian (see review post). It is billed as moderate to strenuous; but it is more like strenuous to crazy hard! It is NOT a hike, but a climb straight up Gros Piton. The... More

This hike was extremely challenging, but very rewarding. I consider myself quite in-shape, as I regularly run long distances, including a marathon in the past year. However, I found this hike to be among the most difficult physical activities that I have ever completed. My husband and I completed the hike much more quickly than the "average" time, which definitely... More

This is certainly not your average hike - don't be fooled into thinking this. The trail is fairly rocky most of the way but its when you get past the halfway it really gets interesting (or testing depending on your viewpoint). This should be expected though as you climb up to 2,615 feet it little under 2 miles. The view... More

St. Lucia’s most famous landmarks are the dramatic Pitons. So what better way celebrate the natural beauty of this island then to hike one of them. The Gros and Petit Piton are located in the southwestern part of the island near the town of Soufriere. Through the work of the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation the Gros Piton (786 metres) is... More

There is no reason not to check out this natural wonder when in St. Lucia. Whether by car, bus, catamaran or by foot...this site is magnificent. The town of Soufrière offers a great view of the Pitons.
