My wife and I visited Nevis on a cruise vacation. The cruise made a stop in St Kitts and we took a ferry over to Nevis. While there we visited the Alexander Hamilton house. We were excited to see a place where one of the original revolutionary era soldier and framer of the declaration once lived. There wasn't much to... More

From Nevis to the dueling grounds of New Jersey. Opinionated, forceful, and one of our most important forefathers. Father of the U.S. Coast Guard - although they don't mention that. Fun little museum that sheds more light on his earlier days. Worth the stop.

Great chance to learn about Alexander Hamilton (yes, the same Alexander Hamilton from US Revolutionary War history) and his connection to the Queen of the Caribbe. While this is not the Smithsonian, you shouldn't go expecting that anyway, there are quite a few nice exhibits for learning not only about Hamilton, but about the history of Nevis as well. Enjoy!

If you like history well you will like this. Alexander Hamilton's birthplace! We stopped here as well as the Horatio Nelson museum. Both were very good.

This was a small museum, but had a lot of interesting information about the history of the Island. If you have 30 - 60 mnutes to spare and enjoy learning about the places you visit, I would recommend you visit here.

Took my daughters - it was not what was expected. There were serveral posters that spoke about Hamiltion and his life. I found the information interesting but would of enjoyed seeing more artifacts, real documents, etc.

I would bet most people thing Alexander Hamilton was born in America, or Europe. Instead he was born on Nevis and on this piece of land. The house located here is not where most of the information on A.H. is located. For that you have to go next door, upstairs, where you will find the information on his life. It... More

A house of historical significance. Sits on the edge of the sea and a short walk from the ferry port.

We enjoyed perusing the exhibits in the museum, including archeological discoveries made at a recent dig. The museum has a nice mix of textual information and historic objects and covers the early to modern Nevis history. The museum occupies the original carriage house associated with the house where Hamilton lived, as the house does not survive.
