We hired a guide to take us around La Paz, our tour included the Museum. I was very impressed with the exhibits which explained the history of La Paz and all of Baja CA. Very informative.

The museum does a great job of bringing the history of Baja to life. Had a great afternoon there. The displays are in English and Spanish with prehistory as well as post Spanish occupation.

Not the best museum but it is definately worth a look. Lots of pictures and diaramas on three floors, which for the most part are well done. The native american cultures memorbilia and especially the pictographs are interesting. We do speak a little Spanish, so the staff really were very helpful in explaining things and answering question. Before you leave... More

Its a beautiful building in an old part of town its historical and a good way to beat the heat. It can be an eye opener when you think of how many times these people had to fight for their independance. I do love this culture.

gift shop kept very irregular hours- it was hard to purchase an item we had liked and should have bought at the time. When we went back to buy it the shop was always closed.

If you don't have high expectations you will enjoy this small museum. It is actually very nice for what it is. There was an exhibit about pirates that was quite good. Since I find myself not remembering much else, I think it was not terribly informative, but it was a nice way to spend a little time during the heat... More

This is a great (if small) museum that covers the sweep of history from the geologic formation of the Baja peninsula to the prehistoric animals and people to the more recent days of Spanish exploration up to today. We pent about two hours touring the museum. Because we don't read Spanish and the interpretive signs are all written in Spanish... More
