If you are adventurous hike from Boca de Tomatlan to Animas. It will take 1.5 - 2 hrs along and above the coast. Moderately difficult hike but we hit some great secluded beaches along the way, saw flocks of parakeets and great scenery. We took the water taxi back but buy your ticket in Boca because if it is busy... More

We visited this beach through Vallarta Sol. We considered a water taxi and found this tour for almost the same cost (32$). We were a bit worried because of the low cost but we thoroughly enjoyed the day. The tour operator provides a light breakfast at the Marine terminal, takes you to Los Arcos to snorkel for a brief period... More

Dead end of the beach by the city. You may just lay and read, sunbathe, do nothing. A dozen of nice frontbeach bars may take care of you. Happy hour on early afternoon. Freindly crowd.

We visited during Easter and of course it was busy as this is the busiest holiday of the year. We went to the yellow restaurant at the end of the beach which was quieter than the rest of the beach, had umbrellas, nice loungers and good service.

We had heard Las Animas was a nice, quiet, "get away"....ummm....NOT during Easter Week....CRAZY full of people! Very few lounge chairs & almost none with umbrellas.....disappointing!

even if you do not drink much, like me, the boat cruise out to Las Animas is great fun. The beach is fun too, and the food, although not great, is fine for a full day tour for a reasonable price.

It is a short water taxi ride from Boca. The return trip costs 140 pesos ($12). The beach was clean, quiet, and had just enough restaurants to have a choice to eat! Great way to spend an afternoon watching waves and birds. If you would like a quiet afternoon at the beach to read and relax, this is the place... More

We spent a good part of our day here after deep sea fishing with a guy we met while on another adventure to Yelapa the day before. His name was Danny and you can find him at Boca de Tomatlan (the area where all of the water taxis leave from in Mislmaloya). Everyone knew him by name and he has... More

The hike is just over 5 miles from Boca to Las Animas and it is worth it. Half way through there is a fabulous restaurant called "Ocean Grill" - so worth the walk just for the food. Can also get there by water taxi. Then you head on to Las Animas. Great beach and many restaurants complete with lawn chairs... More
