Yes the enclosures are small for some of the animals. But you can tell they are trying to keep the place nice by working on some of the enclosures. I really enjoyed being able to feed the animals. They give you a bag of food for 50 peso's and instructions on what to give to each animal. It was nice... More

Where else in the entire world can you hold a 2 wk old baby bengal tiger? And get to choose between a golden and a white one? Then be handed a 9 day old baby jaguar, right after petting a 4 month old lion? AWESOME! They told us this zoo has record babies - 40-45/year. Zoos from all over the... More

We went to the Zoo in February 2013 with my 10-month old daughter. We had a great time! I loved how the zoo followed one path so you were able to see all the exhibits without getting lost. My favourite part was feeding the animals - make sure you get enough bags and save some for the end of the... More

Went to the zoo not expecting too much. Left feeling overwhelmed with sadness. The enclosures for the animals are inhumane. We saw a huge beast laying down gasping for air. It was obviously distressed and likely dying! I spent the next few days of our vacation trying to figure out how I could help these beautiful animals and found that... More

We have been going to the Vallarta Zoo regularly for the past 6-7 or more years when making our treks to Puerto Vallarta. The zoo is located south of town in Mismaloya. You can take the Mismaloya-Boca bus...fare is only 7 pesos per person. Get off at the Mismaloya/Barceló Resort stop. Cross the street and follow the cobblestone road through... More

This is a great feeding zoo! Wear sensible shoes for a bit of a hike and lots of walking. Feed the hungry hippo - and please support this zoo - consider a donation

What a cool zoo! Where else could you feed a giraffe or a hippo or a monkey? My DH and I really enjoyed going to this zoo so much. We liked the fact that you can purchase healthy food to feed the animals and they provide pictures on the outside of the bag so that you know who can eat... More

The whole place is one big petting and feeding zoo. My family and I enjoyed ourselves immensely, especially with the tame monkeys climbing all over us and the little big cats to pet. That experience is a rare treat.

This place is TERRIBLE. The conditions that the animals are kept in are abhorrent. (For instance, they were keeping a baby jaguar in a small DOG KENNEL.)We were warned before we went, but wanted to see for ourselves. They were not lying. If you feel like taking a long trip (it's on the opposite side of where most of the... More
