The mineralogic museum is awesome. A must see for rock lovers. The location is nice at the top of a hill.

The Mineralogy Museum is located about a kilometer up the hill, toward Dolores Hidalgo, from the Alhondiga. The final bit is a stiff walk up several flights of stairs. This excellent museum, more commonly known locally as el Museo de Mineralogia, is on the campus of the Escuela de Minas (School of Mines) on the outskirts of town. It has over 20,000 specimens and is considered to be one of the world's great minerology exhibits.
