On the visits, travelers meet women who are applying for micro-loans to start or expand their small businesses, from making tortillas to weaving beautiful rugs, to selling flowers in the local market. Participants hear about the women's lives and projects, and what they plan to do with their loans. At the end of the day, 100% of the fee is then used to give interest-free micro-loans to the women we visited. « less

We really enjoyed meeting some of the microfinance borrowers. The ladies were all very pleasant and welcomed us into their shops and homes. The trip leaders were excellent and we saw some of the local sights as well. Highly recommended and the tour cost supports the different programs.

While in Oaxaca we were able to go on En Via's Tour. I highly recommend this amazing opportunity to meet the women with whom they work and to really learn about their lives, businesses and communities. We visited 6 women in two towns who shared their stories and talked about their business plans. Their trip will give you a view... More

I don't need to repeat all the information about En Via's operations and mission, and all the good it appears to do, all of which is available on its website and in other reviews. I'll restrict myself to commenting on the tour. It was a small group or tourists, an En Via staff person, and two En Via volunteers. We... More

In the course of my month-long visit to Oaxaca, I volunteered with En Via and participated in one of their tours. My volunteer placement was teaching children English in Teotilan. This was the absolute highlight of my stay. The children were lively, hilarious and great to teach. It also meant that I had a regular connection with a village and... More

The day-long tour we took with Fundacion En Via was a highlight of our ten day visit to Oaxaca. En Via provides interest free micro loans to women entrepreneurs. The price for the trip was $50 US per person. This money is essentially a donation to En Via. We visited two villages and met 6 recipients of En Via micro... More

The one-day tour of five women's business ventures in two villages outside Oaxaca, gave us an entry into the life of these places that we couldn't have gotten any other way. The tour fee is $50. US, all of which goes into interest-free microloans to help these and other women start or expand businesses to feed their families, and help... More

It was great to be able to go out into the communities to see how this organization has helped not only the women but also the families. It's a great model that should be replicated. It's also a great way to go out into the towns.

The En Via microfinance tour was a window into the lives of villiage woman working to inprove their lives through tiny business ventures. The two young women who led the tour were inspiring, themselves. They gave us an excellent overview of the world of microfinance in Oaxaca, it's goals, limits, and accomplishments. The tour leaders and the woman who we... More

En Via is a wonderful organisation, which through its microfinance programme has really improved the life of many women in the area. Volunteering to teach English and taking the tour are both really rewarding and engaging. A must for anyone visiting Oaxaca.
