“Quirky but nice little museum with sporadic hours”

Exhibits here change regularly, and as other reviewers have noted, your experience will largely depend on whether the temporary exhibit you see is worthwhile or not. “Totally dependent on special exhibitions, can be good or so-so.”

Since this museo does not have its own collection, its quality is up or down depending on the special exhibition of the season. Nice exhibition space, but little attention to visitor service....it's basically self-serve. On my second trip to Oaxaca I had more time to visit the lesser known attractions and this was one of the best surprises.
