This is a nice place to put in for some off- shore snorkeling. They will watch your stuff while you snorkel in the shallows just off the shore. You'll enjoy seeing lots of different types of fish, sea fans and coral. Afterwards you can have a beer and some ceviche. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome! They... More

On our last day of our trip, since we were unable to go diving, we visited Playa Corona. Snorkeling here was amazing. Go to the RIGHT after you enter the water and stick to the shoreline. We literally saw every creature we saw diving with the exception of a shark. Beautiful sea fans, coral, smaller fish, lobsters...it's all there. Drinks... More

Visited Playa Corona based on a recommendation from snorkelers at our hotel. This beach club is a bit past Money Bar and in my opinion, a lot nicer. Small, quiet and good snorkeling off the beach. They play great music, but not too loud. Did not try the food, just had a few beers. Clean bathrooms, fresh water shower and... More

Just came back (or should i say escaped) from Corona Beach Club. New owner (strange arabic fellow) was creeping on one of the women in our group and we literally had to pull her arm from his grasp just to leave. He insisted she take his number and she did a good acting job pretending she would. Otherwise it was... More

spent a couple hours there. Food was average and access to water a bit challenging. It was nice not to have to fight the crowds. did not regret our stay

We were staying at the El Cid and took a taxi to Playa Corona. Got there early, like 8am and they were not really even open yet. I snorkled for a bit and then we ordered some food. It was pretty tasty but the best about this place is the location! Quiet, nice snorkeling and cold beer when needed. We... More

Corona is an out of the way, laid back, place to kick back. It is not very fancy. There is no beach, and no real area for kids. The snorkeling is good, but you have to get beyond a very rough coral/ rock area before you get to an area where you can swim.

Great "real" Mexican beach bar snorkeling experience. Very small bar/grill with decent Mexican food. Ordered a cold drink and Tacos and was not disappointed. Have realistic expectations, this is a road side Mexican bar/grill with easy access to good snorkeling, relaxing and having some OK food and very basic bathrooms. Bring own snorkeling equipment. Ideal for low stress, no crowds,... More

Playa Corona is a small beach bar/grill with manmade beach, tables/chairs, small dive shop. we were going to go to Chankanaab, but after hearing 3 cruise ships were in town, we went a little further. We were so happy we did. Ok, its a typical old Caribbean beach shack, plastic chairs/tables. The food is similar to beach snack bar, fish... More

This is a great, off-the-beaten-path place. No frills. Free. A bit dated, but the snorkeling is top-notch. Bring your own snorkel gear. All the fish are right up close to shore. Snorkeled to the North for about a mile and saw lots of cool fish. Very worthwhile for the snorkeler. When it's super windy over on the mainland (ie Playa... More
