The place is restored, nice, with lots of nice people around. You can find major attractions arround it, have a nice meal and spend some lazy time wathing the locals. Very good for a nice afternoon or evening.

At dusk the birds flock in to the trees in town square. They sound lovely singing and squalking as they settle in for the night. They are so loud you can hardly hear each other talk! This plaza was build atop a mayan ruin, and the original stones were reused to build the Cathedral and iglesia de Jesus which are...

Each of the original seven parishes of the city has one day of the week to offer live music, and/or dancing. Plaza Grande closes the streets to car and bus traffic, there is music, vendors of foods and hand made goods, etc. While there have a sorbet at El Colon.
It is annice place to walk by and take a stroll maybe even to sit around and watch people passing by or feed the pigeons... A lot of places around are very interesting from coffeee places to bookstores and souvenir shops...the only thing is that as usual the tour guides are all over you trying to get you to buy...

Lovely park with lots of benches to sit and relax. Nice on Sundays with the vendors market set up. Some great views of the church and the Government building.
The Plaza is a photographers dream ~ people and buildings that are so unique and photogenic. We went during the day and and at night and took lots of pictures! There are numerous places to eat, get coffee or shop, with many unique stores and things to buy.
I went to the market on Sunday. Lots of pretty stuff to buy but overpriced. I was looking at a blouse. She started at $500 and went down to $200 in no time but it was still cheaper at a shop on the street. The entertainment was cool
My husband and I love walking our dogs here especially on Sundays and holiday festivities. Mexicans really know how to have family fun. There are live children's shows Sunday morning, live entertainment throughout the day then Latin band music with hundreds of adults dancing. Food is yummy and cheap at the local vendors and there are lots of traditional items...
