Excellent introduction to the Mayan civilisation - not the oldest or possibly the best of the ruins but the was the easiest for us to access. A good guide is key if you want to get the most out of it. There is little shade and we saw a few families with small children really struggling to keep the little... More

We had a great time touring the mayan ruins. We did the alltour adventura for this and went to the mayan community and ziplined, swam in a cenote.

The beach and water at the ruins are amazing. It's worth the trip to just check out the view. It's not very large so you can finish a tour of the ruins in about an hour.

This is the perfect visit for someone who cant devote a full day to getting to/from Chichen Itza. Ideal for those on a limited adventure off of a cruise ship. The ruins are very interesting, just not as grandiose as the wonder of the world far to the west. Lots of huge iguanas everywhere! There are some very picturesque points... More

But it is not right next to the beach the ruins are well preserved it is not as big as Chichen but it is a great place to visit as in all ruins try to visit early in the morning or after 4 pm (it closes 4:30) just don´t miss it. Bring your water and avoid the hundred stores on... More

All of the ruins were roped off so you could only look at them. They did have write ups at all of them so you could do a self guided tour. It was inexpensive (bring pesos as they don't take anything else) and good for a half day activity. It did have a beautiful beach, but so did our resort... More

Visitied Tulum with wife and one year old daughter. There is a lot to see of the ruins and it is great learning about the Mayan civilization and the importance of Tulum as a key trading hub. Definitely get a good guide because there is not much information in the ruins themselves so you will be dependent on the information... More

We went ahead and grabbed a tour guide and the cost seemed fair (it only added about $8-$10 per person and he provided a lot of context). The ruins were just cool no other way to say it - the beach their is beautiful really fun to swim in.

We were staying in Puerto Aventuras, so only 15 minutes by collectivo and we were there. If you are in Cancun book a trip that will include a Xel Ha, because its only an hour trip across the ruins. Or your can enjoy Tulum beach which i guess will be overcrowded in high season. We were informed that in may... More

Tulum was a great attraction. It was everything we had hoped for. If you can take the time to go, do it! If I were to do it over, I would make a day of it. There is a beautiful beach access right in the ruins. It would have been great to spend some time snorkeling and just hanging out... More
