Albert Coffee's tour of Canada de La Virgin Pyramid was enjoyable, informative and fascinating. His understanding of the Otomi people and Mesoamerican cultures is unmatched. We really appreciated his balanced approach of describing how life must have been like for the Otomi, other people and the later arrival of the Spaniards. Albert presented a very balanced perspective by offering alternative... More

This is a lovely example of ancient Aztec life, with a wonderfully preserved and maintained pyramid and surrounding archeological site. For a very thorough and knowledgable English speaking guide, choose a tour with Albert Coffee, who actually worked as an archeologist on the project.

We booked our tour with Prof. Albert Coffee to visit Canada de la Virgen. Make sure that this is who you visit the site with. A little research will reveal that Albert has worked on the site for many years and is extremely knowledgeable about it. The site itself is wonderful. It is set in a vast landscape high above... Open to the public only recently....it is still pristine in terms of what you can see and understand of the Otomi people.

This is a large scale archeological site with important astrological features. It is a little inconvenient to reach and you best bet is to take the tour with Prof. Albert Coffee. He is very knowledgeable and his tour includes a great lunch.

Albert , the guide is very knowledgeable. Unfortunately we were a bit rushed because the van only takes you part of the way to the site and then only allows you two hours to look at all there is to see.

A friend said we had to go to Canyon de la Virgen with Albert. She booked him for us (acoffee@live.com.mx). His tour is exceptionally well informed and balanced in its interpretation. Also, he sets this pyramid complex site in its prehistoric context. His lucid explanations added so much to our enjoyment and understanding of other sites, including the spectacular and... More

It was great to visit the Canada de la Virgen temple ruins. About 8km away is a visitors centre with some pictures and an informative film. A small bus takes you to 1km from the temple from where you start walking to the temple complex. The views were very nice and there were almost no tourists. Unfortunately our guide did... More

We attended the informative tour given by Professor Albert Coffee. We loved the whole day! Albert was fun as well as informative! We booked him through Coyote Canyon Adventures. After the pyramid tour we ate lunch at the ranch and the rode horses through one of the most breath taking canyons I have ever seen. We has a fantastic time... More

This ruina ranks high in my books after seeing many of the other ruinas in Mexico. Not as big as Teotihuacan but you are not overwhelmed with crowds of tourists or vendadores selling trinkets.Lots of tours available but you can get out there by taking a bus from SMA to Guanajuato and ask to get off at the entrance which...
