One more adventure to strike off the "Bucket List"! We had a clear sunny day on the glacier which I hear was very lucky at this time of year. Our guide, Jonathon, was funny and very bright and answered every question. He was just down from Calgary for the day to help out so was super keen!! A once in... More

It is expensive, but well worth it. You drive up onto the glacier, and get to walk about. Stunning views, giving an amazing perspective on the whole glaciated valley. As a plus those in an RV can stay in the car park overnight - no facilities as such, but amazing views, and one of the reasons I had for trying... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our Icefield excursion. Our driver was funny and really informative and we enjoyed being up on the glacier. One of those once in a lifetime things that we just so incredible and well worth it. The only negative I have is that the cafeteria is WAY overpriced and the quality of food was so... More

An expanse of land covered in ice. It's hard to imagine that you are standing on solid 1000 feet of ice. It is quite breathtaking. Best tip for this tour: take the last tour of the day. This was, your group will be the only one on the glacier as the others will have all left and you will have... More

What a trip on to the glacier by special bus. Guides were knowledgable and a really worthwhile trip, lots of people doing it. The queues for food etc. we're long so you need a bit of patience. There were trees there 8 feet tall but 400 hundred years old!

The Columbia Icefield center was a great stop in our recent visit to Alberta National Parks. You can drive onto the glacier in their special bus. It is really the guides explanation of how glaciers are formed, move and behave that makes the experience multidimensional. If you are not fascinated by geology, then it may just seem like ice to... This was awesome. These big vehicles drive u up on top of this glacier. You are allowed 20 minutes to walk around. It's amazing being able to do this without any special equipment and not worrying about falling into a crevice.

This was my first walk on a glacier and I absolutely loved it! It was quite a queue before we were able to board in one of those huge trucks, but the whole trip was definitely worth the wait! You are free to walk on the glacier (can be slippery though!) but it offers a specatular view on the entire... More

We did this tour on our way down the Icefield Parkway From Jasper to Banff, which was an amazing drive. We stopped off to do the glacier tour and loved it! It certainly is a must if your in the area.

We live in Alberta and would recommend this tour to everyone. Bring a bottle to drink the water melting off the glacier. It’s not really that cold unless you are from the tropics. You will see locals wearing flip flops on the ice. Cover up or wear sunscreen if you burn easily. sun is more intense at high altitude. You... More
