My husband grew up in Vancouver, and yet our last trip to BC was the first time he had ever noticed, or stepped inside, the Marine Building. It is a beautiful Art Deco styled building, and an important piece of Vancouver's history. Best of all, it is still a functional office building so you can visit the lobby during normal... More

The architecture is worth taking in. The floors, elevators, ceiling are all outstanding. Take your camera. This is a heritage building not your modern glass highrise.

If you're down town you've got to go into the foyer and spend a few minutes. This is the finest art deco building in Vancouver. There is nothing like this building in Vancouver....it's right beside BC Place so don't miss it.

We visited to enjoy the view. The day was the clearest in a week and the view was excellent. Select you day but do go!

This was the highlight of our free tour of downtown with the Tour Guys (guides work for tips). The building is gorgeous, especially on the inside. The level of detail is astounding. It's probably the best example of art deco architecture I've ever seen. Our guide had us take the elevator to the 2nd floor, to get a closer look... More

Worth walking a couple of blocks out of the way. Gorgeous, over the top boat hull sconces in the lobby.

One of the most beautiful buildings in all of Vancouver! Used extensively in movies - and for good reason. Stop by to admire the beautiful architecture - and then hit "The Imperial" for a fabulous Dim Sum.

Back in the 1950's when a trip from Vancouver Island was 3 hours aboard a CP Rail ferry, that offered white linen dining and sleeper berths, the Marine Building was at one of the busiest intersections in the downtown core. From the ferry terminal we walked up to Hastings Street, the beginning of which was the Marine Building. I remember... More

The Marine Building is one of Vancouver's landmarks. It is old, magestic, beautiful. Vancouver has few old office buildings of any worth as most have been torn down over the years. The Marine Building is so charming, so unique and still viable it screams look at me. I have no idea about the internal infrastructure and how modernized it is... More
