This is typical of many lighthouses on Nova Scotia but you can get up close and personal with this one. You can even sit down on a bench and soak up the view weather permitting.

Fresh new paint. Green area surrounding the lighthose well kept and the maple tree beside it perfectly trimmed . Also it's close proximity to the booardwalk
The lighthouse has good views behind it of the Annapolis Basin and the homes and churches on the far bank. It is a good photo stop while strolling through the town.
The lighthouse itself is rather small and less than inspiring, but the surrounding view more than made up for it.
This was not only a lighthouse tour but a walking tour along the main street. Historial buildings were pointed out and their history told. Fascinating facts about local historians, authors (Mark Twain visited), interesting events in the town's history were told in an entertaining and informative manner. A high point of our visit.
Very small but pretty lightstation exists near the wharf in Annapolis Royale. Surrounded by grass, there are some benches and rocks to sit on and view the Annapolis River vista towards Digby. A nice wooden riverside boardwalk passes by this lighthouse through town and over to historic Fort Anne. The Lighthouse is worth a picture taking stop on a tour...
