To be able to see the real ship and climb to all the levels made you wonder. It reminds me that the peace we have is to be appreciated.
We have visited a couple of times. What a great way to step back in history and see a great protector of our country. A good friend of mine flew as an escort for the Hiada during WW11 and had their 40th wedding anniversary aboard the ship when it was moored in Toronto.
If you like the navy, ships or even water, you learn so much about what it is like to live on a ship for days, weeks etc. If you get the chance do it, it is well worth it.
The self-guided tour is informative. You are able to go all over the ship and get a strong impression of what life would have been like for the sailors.
I'd love to plan a visit for this year....but there are no hours listed! With a sunny, nice March Break one would think it would be open during this time! What is up!!
We went there with our brother and sister in law and had a very nice time. It is a self guided tour but there are people on board who will answer questions. Given the history of the ship it is well worth your time to visit.
One of Canada's great fighting ships. to many battles to list from the Channel in WWII to Korea. Now in Hamilton whre it belongs.

Simply love the self tour and visiting all the different areas of the ship. I learned a lot and the staff made it fun for all visitors to discover the history, the heritage, the architecture and layout of this wonderful warship.

I challenge anyone to tour the ship from front to back and then sit in the crews mess. Like me, you'll swear you can feel the presence of crew passed on! Pride is a big thing. Maybe even in the great beyond. Lest we ever forget.
A lot of history took place on her so no doubt you felt what you did. Many thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience on TripAdvisor.
