Don't miss this!! The guides were very good answered all questions and were fun to talk with. I especially enjoyed the inclusive nature of the displays, with First NAtions people having thier say in the telling of the stories. Bravo, Parks Canada!!

They have in- period costume people to answer you questions as you go from building to building, and they have a great musket firing reenactment.
This site was brilliant, spent quiet a few hours there, but the weather wasn't good, wish now we went on a better day, but overall, the atmosphere here was fantastic.
I love the reenactment that they have. The fort is beautiful and it is a great family experience. I would definitely love to see the place again.
We have visited many forts all over Canada and this is one of our favourites. There are interesting demonstrations happening all the time (well worth the time); the buildings are full of artifacts; the guides are informed and friendly. You even use "king's sovereigns" to get in!
Our first visit was during a ghost tour which was awesome! We also came back for a day visit and the whole experience was very interesting. A lot of history for sure!
Our family has gone to Fort George a number of times over the years and have always found the staff knowledgeable and friendly, the cannon and gunfire presentations are always well done,
so are the fif and drums
This past summer we went to the RCMP musical ride event they held there and were Very impressed the soldier squad did...

Gives you a sense of what it was like in 1812. Surrounded by lots of open fields. Marvelous location right on the Niagara River, with the USA on the other side.
The fort has been reconstructed in a fashion that reflects its role and importance in defending British North America even though it was sacrificed in the undertaking. The ultimate result is a proud and free nation that was born from the ashes of the War of 1812.
Worth visiting for the history & demonstrations you are given. It doesn't take too long to do so you would still be able to fit in othe attractions the same day. We have said for years we would go one summer. Finally we did & we're glad we did.
