History, History, History, what can one say about Canada Parliment Building, wonders of the world, if not wonders of Canada
The Parliament Hill is the cynosure of the city and is located centrally. The Parliament, The Peace Tower and The Supreme Court of Canada is located on this hillock that sits on the highest point of the city. The view of the Parliament Hill from the Alexandra Bridge is fascinating in the evening with the setting sun in the background.
the architecture and history in the building is worth the tour. best advice we received was go in the morning to get ticket and then return for a later tour.
didn't get the chance to go inside this trip, but had the full treatment a number of years ago when we had a family reunion in Ottawa. More than what you see on tv. Gorgeous at night, with brilliant lights.
Walk to the back of the Parliament buildings and enjoy the view of the River. The tour of the buildings is worth the time and effort. After all, it is Canada's capital! and the seat of our Parliament. Visit the Centennial flame, enjoy the archicture, feel the history.
It's the ol' colony's Big Ben ... yeah, it's like Big Ben, but, it's in Canada! So, if you want to see where it all started, then do yourself a favor and take the full tour. If you're canadian you can't afford not to!
When in Ottawa you must take in the sights of Ottawa's historical and national monuments. From afar they resemble hollywood pictures. Up close they are striking and beautiful.
You want an awesome Canada Day celebration....go to Ottawa!! But in the winter....not so much. There was lots of construction and many of the paths were blocked. Signage at the monuments and were weather worn and unreadable.
I was looking forward to this visit but it was rather disappointing. After the security measures at the entrance (similar to airport checkup) the tour guide took us to a hallway and he showed us a towel that he took out of his shoulder bag, on that towel was a printing of the parliament! which he used to explain to...

It was great walking around and taking pictures of the many beautiful sights on Parliament Hill. The building itself is nice, but there's also the eternal flame and the surrounding Coats of Arms of each province, which was really cool. The indoor tours were awesome, and the canal was impressive. Kudos to Canada for a great experience!
