This was a shore excursion for our family from a Carnival cruise ship. I picked this based on reviews and pictures. After going there it was worth the long bus ride. I will warn you to bring extra batteries for your camera. My wife ran the battery down on her camera with all the photo ops.

We included Uxmal as the last stop on our modified Ruta Puuc tour from Merida. We chose to view the site without a guide, which worked perfectly for us. The major areas were nicely signed in both English and Spanish and easy to explore. The site is small enough to enjoy without being overwhelmed, yet contains some very impressive structures.... More

This was a truly awe inspiring experience. There are far less crowds then at Chichen Itza but just as impressive. I found myself walking around constantly asking "how did they do that". Must see amazing ruin.

This site is so impressive, I just don't know where to begin. There are numerous photo ops and lots of beautiful vistas. It leaves you wondering how the Mayans built all this and whatb their lives were like. Mexico is so lucky to have this traesure!

Depending on the time of year, you must try to go early in the day. I was there at noon, and it was 90 degrees. The ruins are beautiful and fascinating, but when it's that hot, it's hard to enjoy them. There is almost no shade at the ruins, just at the visitor center. If you don't go with a... More

A great place without the huge tourism of some of the other comparable spots. We enjoyed it a lot although it was quite a drive.

I loved this ruin as much as any I have been to in Mexico. The pyramids are tall with several that you can still climb.

This is a relaxing site to visit, a place to wander through and to sit and enjoy the views from the higher structures. Make sure to wander to the unexcavated areas such as the Grupo del Cementario.

Fortunately, it wasn´t that hot the day we visited, but a hat and a water bottle are a must as shade is not guaranteed when you need it. We took a guided tour with Méxitours and were not disappointed at all. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the site and the Mayan people in general. He spoke... More

I like this ruin, the temple is just as impressive as many others but there are more decorations left to see.
