Nice place to learn about the marine wildlife on this old reef site. Alternatively, it's also a nice place simply to sit, relax, and enjoy the sea breeze. The place is approx. 40 min by bicycle from the Pulau Ubin jetty terminal. Or around 10 min by van.

We rode on great bike trails to get to the wetlands, through fabulous rainforest, with huge trees, and wonderful wildlife. The tower over the boardwalk in the wetlands has most amazing view out to Malaysia and back to Singapore. Our guide from ubinkayak company told us about many of the sights we were seeing. I would like to go back... More

Chek Jawa is a National Parks managed board walk through the mangroves and across the ocean on Palau Ubin. You leave your bikes and walk a few minutes to the NP hut which has a cold drinks dispensor (take coins for this). Then do the boardwalk which is not in the shade so take a hat, water and sunscreen. Everything is splendid there. There is a boardwalk over the sea, then a boardwalk through the mangroves. After that, there is a tall viewing tower which offers splendid views of the island on one side, and the sea on the other. You've got to walk around though, and climbing up the viewing tower is tiring, after cycling all the way... More

Saving Chek Jawa from development was a great benefit to Singaporeans and tourists. Spend about 30 minutes walking the boardwalk through the mangrove swamps, enjoy the view from the top of the lookout and then walk the coastal boardwalk looking for wildlife and watching boats. The Tudor Style "House #1" was built in the 1930's and is a quaint English... More

The preservation of at least a small portion of Singapore's natural environment, when so much has been destroyed with development of the country. Good to see this has so much to inform younger generatons of Singapore of its natural flora and fauna

The tide was just coming in when we were there. We could still see the sea bed which was full of activities. There were mudskippers and different species of crabs moving around. When we walked further out to the sea, we could see schools of fishes. The whole experience is therapeutic.

This is definitely a destination to visit in Singapore. The boardwalk spreads up to 3 quarter miles along and around the coastal region offers a relaxing trip for travelers. We love it, a lot!
