This is the best beach we have in Tahoe if you don't have your pets with you. They charge 7 dollars to park but you can come and go all day as long as they aren't too full. They have picnic tables that are huge! Bathrooms with indoor plumbling. No outhouses. The sand is better than the other beaches and... More

The beach is right off of the highway and has a lot of space. It was closed when we went, but we parked on the highway and walked in. The sand is fairly smooth and the beach look great for swimming in the summer. We brought our dog and a lot of other people had theirs too.

I love all the beaches down that way but pope has the cleanest water, partially because there aren't a lot of people. So if you go DONT litter!!!

We went to Pope Beach in July 2012. This was our family's first visit to Pope Beach and we really enjoyed it. There was plenty of parking and the beach is a short walk from the parking lot (2 important criteria for us.) There were also many bathrooms along the beach so you were never too far from one (another... More

Pope Beach provides a beautiful view of the whole lake. On most days, you can see all the way to the other side of the lake. The view is absolutely breathtaking. The beach was very quiet and there were not very many visitors because of the time of year. I would love to go back in the summer months.

this beach looks amazing. i went during fall so i didnt take full advantage but it was a shame for the neighbors since there were multiple people admiring the beach. i do not like that the home owners have the "beach" cut off and you can't walk through more area but im sure they pay hefty property fees. this must... I was there October 18th....the great part about going in October is the solitude of the area. We rented bikes from Anderson's Biclycle Rental for $10 / hr and rode about 16 miles total. Some of the areas we rode thru were closed to vehicles, but OK on bike. We spent a few hours taking in the beauty of Pope... More

Pope beach has an entry fee and is kind of narrow area which is very populated. We much prefer the Kiva picnic area further down the road. It's free, the area of trees is much bigger and it's less populated overall.

Especially in September and October when the salmon spawn I am bringing my grandson for the first time to see them. It is such a beautiful place to come and get in touch with the inner self...ME!
