We visited the Mill today, a Friday in term time, so it was lovely and quiet. We had lunch first, which was very nice. Soup of the day, and I couldn't resist the Victoria sponge. Then into the Mill. Kate, who was demonstrating spinning and weaving, was really interesting, despite there being only two of us to talk to at... More

A National Trust property, this Victorian mill is well run with volunteers helping to explain the history of looms and weaving. Interesting on the lives of the Greg family who built the mill, and the lives of the men, women and children who worked there. Beautiful grounds on the side of the river, small play area for children, and plenty... More

A truly amazing and fascinating glimpse into our industrial heritage. We went there on a spur of the moment decision as it was raining and we could not do our planned walk on alderley Edge. Stayed most of the day as there was so much to do and see. Would recommend it on a fine day as well.

I remember school trips here when I was at school, not been for many years so decided to bring my 4 year old grandson. I thought he maybe a bit young but he absolutley loved the mill, fascinated at how things worked. The apprentice house is a great tour, staff all friendly and knowledgable. The cafe had sold out of... More

We enjoyed our day at Quarry Bank Mill. It was fascinating to see the whole process of spinning wool into cloth and to learn about the lives of the people who used to work here. The staff were very friendly and the demonstrations very interesting. We enjoyed wandering around the beautiful gardens and were sorry that we did not have... More

The Mill and gardens are wonderful, but best of all is the Apprentice's House set a little walk from the mill. Guided tours take you through the harsh times the Apprentice's had to face and give you a feeling of how they worked in the 19th century. Well worth the extra fee.

I've visited QBM several times as a child/GCSE Student and it still fascinates me now as a grown adult. If accompanying children, young or old - ensure you've got supporting materials to help guide them round the site. The volunteers are extremely helpful. I revisited yesterday as part of the National Trust free weekend, but would willingly pay the entrance... More

Went there for a few hours on a weekend afternoon as it's close to home. As it's a National Trust property members get in free, including the car park, but you do have to collect tickets from the ticket office. There are 3 attractions you can visit during your time there. The Mill, The Gardens and the Apprentice House which... More
