Took me about 50 mins all the way round, stopping to read all the signs. A lovely walk with lovely views. If your pushed for time at least do the Cathedral round to the weir. this is the best bit.
On a nice day there is nothing better than walking the walls. If you come to Chester this is a must do. It's free, you'll see the sights, see the city and you can't get lost. We live near by and still do this walk from time to time, it never gets boring. The more you do it the more...

Great opportunity to see Chester without getting lost, there are some good information points and interesting architecture to see. Well worth it on a clear day - plus it's free!
I have been on Chester Walls a few times and it is always a pleasant walk. The walls are generally free of litter and are not usually too crowded. A good part of any visit to Chester.
Great way to spend an hour or so. Some of the views en route are beautiful, It's quite a leisurely walk and isn't too strenuous.
Lovely walk around Chester great views and good pit stops Dislike nothing except the rain and cold.....
These are substantial walls. Chester is one of the nicest walled cities anywhere. So much Roman history. Take the Hop On Bus tours to really appreciate the walls.
I have to walk with a stick but found the walk around the walls possible approx. 2 miles well worth to take the time
Very good way to see Chester: good views of most of the city and you can enjoy refreshment close by and walk the next stage. I particularly loved the Cathedral gardens.
