Car parking was not so easy at the week end but most people were just walking their dogs and not visiting the NT property. Perhaps if they charged?

What to do on a day in May when it feels more like November with freezing rain pouring down?We decided to make use of our NT membership and see what Saltram House had to offer. It doesn't open until 12 but the cafe is available prior to that so we had a very nice cake a a cuppa while we...

My dog's favourtie walk. Easily accessible from the city centre and a delightful walk round the country estate along the river bank. Never been round Saltram House but I hear it's very good.
Romantic walks around the plymouth embankments, lots of families around, little cafe and a shop, little history and from the top you can see all city
Great place to visit and the staff/volunteers were really helpful. The gardens are lovely at the moment with the daffodils out, and there are a lot of walks from the house. The house is really stunning and some amazing ceilings
A jog round Saltram is just the right distance and difficulty for a beginner, because you can alternate a nice walk in the woods with some running. A bit uneven under foot in places, but you can walk those bits! No fee to use only the coastal trail.
Saltram House inside is an interesting visit, make sure you visit the...

set in landscaped parkland now that the trees have matured and masked some of the less exciting views Enjoy walks through the park, woodlands and beside the river.
This is a National Trudt property and came up to their very high standards. The gardens are huge and took us over 2 hours to walk around. There were plenty of areas where you could stop and sit down and admire the view also have a picnic if you wished. Lovely place, nice National trust shop and a cafe in...

We live near this property and walk in the grounds most weeks. There is a good cafe and the gardens are well looked after
With the family, on your own or with the dog. There are many paths, around the park, one that cuts through the middle is tarmaced and of easy use for wheelchairs and prams. Grounds are kept within nature. Cafe and shop are quite expensive, bring your own and have a picnic.
