The Cathedral is very special though so are Tewkesbury and Worcester. What makes this special is the chained library and the mappa mundi which are unique. There' s also a very quaint little coffee shop.

The mappa Mundi is a "must" for anyone who travels near Hereford - it is well presented and a privilege to see . The Chained Library is merely very good indeed and worth a visit on its own > The cathedral is not bad also. A good cafe ,especially if warm enough to sit out.
Hereford Cathedral is a monumental building with fantastic architecture and a great history. The mappa mundi should be a wonder of the world and is a tribute to those that saw the world so earlky on almost as we do. The detail is amazing and the display that introduces the map as well as the chain library is both well...

It was a lovely place to look around with some unexpected features like some really modern tapestries and stained glass windows. The guides were very helpful - the cathedral and Mappa Mundi are definitely the best tourist sites in Hereford..
Just a great place for exploring. Art exhibition at the Bishop's Place was well worth a visit and the flowers in the Cathedral were great.

I hadn't realised that the cathedral had Norman, Saxon and...

Planned a trip to Hereford Cathedral initially to see the Mappa Mundi and "chained library", but would also highly recommend the cathedral as a fascinating, interesting place to visit. An extraordinary combination of architecture, art, music, history and sociology as well as being a religious site for over 1,200 years. There are also beautiful enclosed gardens for sitting and contemplating...
