The tube is great. It's fast, efficient and easy to use once you get used to it. Take a moment to read the tube maps and always know there are lots of people to help you get around.

You MUST take the tube when you visit London. It seems a bit overwhelming and you can guarantee you'll get in someone's way but that aside, its quick, relatively straightforward and reasonably efficient, especially if you avoid the rush hour. spent the weekend the best and easiest way to travel, got tube tickets cheaper with my railcard. clean, fast efficient. got used to using the tube map and if we hadnt there was plenty of staff at stations to help.

I seldom visit London, but recently spent a weekend there using the tube quite a lot.
The main thing that struck me was how clean places are compared to a few years back.
We were not delayed at any time over the weekend and found our way around very easily.
It is nice to see that they are getting it...

I visited London in early May and had a great time. One of the best experiences I had was on the Tube(Subway, I'm a New Yorker). The Tube was fast, efficient and clean. I was no more than a few stops from everywhere I wanted to go. This is the ABSOLUTE best way to get around London!
