The market square in Nottingham has had many architectual designs, each one, has had its good and bad points but the latest incarnation, I believe, is the best. Retains its Old Market Square charm of the 'older days', despite the modern upgraded fountains and farmer stalls. It gathers people together, is ideal for catching the trams to other parts of the city boundaries.

It's not Trafalgar Square but it is a venue for City centre events such as pop concerts, markets and even has an ersatz seaside with sand , food and a funfair during the school summer holidays.
