This is one not to miss when you visit, when do you get the chance to see a working windmill in the middle of a big city, it is set in a pleasant park with a good children's playground. last time we visited we asked the miller if he had some flower to sell he said he had sold out,... More

Definitely worthwhile visiting with young children, but the museum is very small, so don't expect to be there too long! I last visited 4 years ago and there science presentations / hands on areas are starting to look a little bit worse for wear. Enjoyed going into the windmill itself, and seeing how the flour is milled. It would have... More

Despite it being visible from the the city centre, it seems most residents of Nottingham haven't paid the mill a visit. It's a lovely place to spend an hour on a sunny day. We took our two little nieces who had a great time climbing the stairs and getting their hands covered in flour. A bargain, and well worth a... More

When our daughter and two grand-children came to stay recently, top of the list for a visit was Green's Mill in Sneinton, Nottingham. Our son had been taken there several times as a youngster and loved it but somehow our daughter, Anna, had missed out. When our grand-daughter, Ffion (3), first saw the sails she spread her arms wide and... More

This working windmill is set on a hill and I would therefore advise that you try to choose a sunny day with no wind as the day we went it was went and windy and did take away some of the pleasure. The stairs in the mill are steep and there are many of them, so not for the infirirm... More

Working mill still producing bread, you can go up it. Science museum for kids onsite as George Green who founded the mill was a scientist. Plus lovely playground with climbing wall and boulders. Sit in park and look up at mill. 5 mins on no 43 bus from Nottingham city centre.

Lovely place to visit with children of any age and fascinating for adults and children alike. With the mill, mini-science museum, large playground and gardens, as well as frequent special events, there really is something for everyone - and I recommend buying the flour (milled in the windmill!) which makes lovely bread. I hear that this place is under threat... More

Only 15mins walk from my house, we love going here. Great interactive section which is kept very clean. It is free entry but we always donated a few £. Take a trip up inside the windmill if you are feeling brave. There is a lovely grassy area with play park too about 1minute walk away. Only thing missing is a... More
