Great shops, bars and places to eat. Wonderful central location for either business or leisure purposes.
I only had time to walk around and look at the buildings from the street. I looked at the old hangman's tower and the other lovely tower next to it. Unfortunately it was raining heavily at first, then the rain stopped and the gutters dripped, so it was a damp experience!
This is fun and diverse area of Glasgow City Centre. Loads of restaurants to choose from or just cocktails if you wish. Diverse, eclectic, different,surprising, amazing. God I cold go on. It's a hidden gem that a lot of people's bizarrely don't know exists. I'd defineltly return.
This is a perfect place to go to if wanting to see what the city is all about with lots of places to eat and drink from different continents so no one should be stuck finding food of their choice here.
I like the Merchant city, great selections of restaurants from Spanish, Mexican, Italian etc. If you fancy a quiet drink with friends the Metropolitan upstairs with the piano bar is very handy, but drinks can be very expensive.
If you want cheap drinks, i recommend O'Neills..(Irish Bar) they also have live bands there every Saturday..

A great part of Glasgow for nightlife. Good Bars and Restaurants around every corner with local colour and culture pouring out of every doorway. Lot's of good locally sourced food all over the place. Be prepared to put on a few pounds.
Whether it's art, bars, restaurants, cafes or shops that you're looking for, the Merchant City has it all- and in good measure. It's not the cheapest part of the city, but this gives it a somewhat "cleaner" feel than the poster-bedecked, often-gloomy west end.
