Enjoyed a lovely day out at Dunrobin Castle and Gardens. Plenty to see and read about the Sutherland clan. Had a light lunch in the cafe which had log fires burning, home cooked cakes and fresh sandwiches. All the guides were very approachable and knowledgeable so ask them about the castle, they want to tell you all! Don't forget to... More

The grounds are beautiful & the building impressive. This is how the rich lived 2 hundred years ago. The furniture & furnishings were wonderful to look at. The view of the gardens from the second floor shows how much they paid to detail. Would have liked more history on the people but not available. The best part was to see... More

The weather was not the best for May but the Castle was still great. The Falconry show even in the rain was very good The Falconer was just brilliant and full of knowledge about his craft. The rooms were beautifully laid out and well kept. Staff very friendly. The cafe served well cooked meals and snacks. There was a great... More

Dunrobin Castle is the most beautiful castle we saw in Scotland – the view to the castle that you get from the gardens is simply fabulous and we could just sit, keep looking at it and take pictures. The interior was also amazing, with beautiful rooms and plenty of collected furniture and items. The drawback, however, was that we were... More

Only had time to do the tour to the Castle, but it was a wonderful experience. The rooms you can visit are all laid out as if the family was still living in them. Lovely to see the nursery, the reading room, study, etc. Very well maintained and friendly staff.

after visiting several historic mansions where you were allowed to look but not to touch this was a pleasant surprise. a solid castle that provides insight into how scottish high society lived 200 years ago. even though thte castle is more down to earth and less posh than other royal houses, it is very impressive. the falconery topped it off... The castle, gardens and the falconry presentation at Dunrobin are well worth the visit. The tour of the interior is worth the time and the artwork along the way is most interesting. This was the only Castle we visited on our trip and considered it a highlight. We had lunch in the castle too. Good food served in what used... More

Beautiful inside and out; gardens flowing right to the firth. Tour staff knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of stairs/steps to climb, but well worth the walk.

The beauty of the situation, gardens and chateau-like castle is breathtaking. The castle interior has the warmth and intimacy of a family home. Staff are charming and informative. The falconry display in the gardens is the best I have seen with much avian information. The birds flying against the backdrop of the castle are majestic. This is a must-see. You... More

If nothing else catch the Falconry show here. The grounds are a perfect setting for this show. I can't remember the handlers name but his love for his birds and the subject are unquestionable. If you're in the area, and the weather is good, go see it!
