Follow your guide as they lead you up to the reindeer's mountain enclosure. Once there, your guide will tell you all about the reindeer and you can walk amongst them, stroking them and feeding them by hand.Don't fancy the hill trip? For those less able, from Easter to New Year, we have a small group of reindeer in the paddock at the Centre itself. For younger visitors, there is a quiz, you can make your own badge, or make an antler headband. « less

So few people know anything about these wonderful animals. Its slightly retro- but well worth dedicating a couple of hours of your time on your trip to this part of Scotland. Learn about their history, and how they adapt to live in the harsh climate. You will learn stuff that you will pass on to others for the rest of... More

We visited on a typical highlands day in April and experienced the full four seasons in the space of 20 minutes, including rain, hail and a brief snow-storm, followed by glorious sunshine. Our guide (Andi) was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and clearly has a love of the reindeer. THe walk to the herd is beautiful, crossing a valley and 'classic' highland... More

It is an unexpected experience, Easy walking with guys from centre some 2 km to mountain where herd of reindeer is already assembled awaiting food portions. After initial introduction they're happy to eat from your hands, you can even stroke their fur. However only if you offering an food..... Nice and calm and majestic animals. One of attraction we're unable... More

Good hiking for families with kids and including play area and interesting history. They can make their own badge and their own horns collar. You should back your staff for windy cold weather and boots for mudy and rainy areas. The walk it self amazing with sleeping areas inside the mountain. And the reindeers are amazing and friendly. We feed... More

We arrived at the Reindeer Centre - with two very excited teenage girls - for the hill walk. It was very snowy and cold and we were grateful that we had good walking boots and ski jackets for the walk. After driving in convoy up towards the ski centre, we all parked by the side of the road (car park... More

We visited the herd one sunny snowy morning via a 20 min trek down a hill across a bridge and 20 mins up the other side, surrounded by stunning scenery. The girls in the shop are very helpful, allowing us to hire one of their baby lightweight backpacks free of charge and to hire a pair of wellies for one of... More

We visited in April and there was plenty of snow up on the hills. We paid to go in the paddock and do the hill walk. The paddock area is lovely with a handful of reindeer to see up close. They rotate which ones are in there every few weeks. The information boards/displays were only in a small area but... More

We took our two young children to see the reindeer in the paddock at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre. There were only 3 reindeer in there as the others had just been let out onto the mountain, but even with just those 3 the girls loved seeing them. There are some lovely little displays and areas to sit in around the... More
