We had a quick sightseeing trip on the railway & it was brilliant. We were amazed at the views at the top & couldn't believe the amount of snow & wind. Good café & shop & great commentary up & down.

Had an amazing time up these mountains. We are beginner snowboarders and having failed mastering the ski lift it was brilliant that they have a monorail train (unlimited travel included with day passes) which goes up to the top in about 5 minutes and there is never much more than a 15 minute wait. We were able to master the... More

Just driving through the Cairngorms is an experience on it's own. The scenery is brilliant and changes every few minutes. There was snow on the peaks and sunshine down below. Very breathtaking and picturesque. Very twisty and turny though and no places to stop for a loo break or refreshments for long stretches, so make sure you go to the... More

Although I don't have head for heights, the trip up funicular railway was not at all scary. Great views at top.

Loads of snow still but unfortunately nowhere to wander once you get to the top! Quite expensive for the 5 minute journey on the train and then spent an hour in the bar! On a clearer day I am sure the view is exceptional but on a cold snowy day you could barely see a few meters out of the... More

Visited on the 30th April, first visit to the mountain. I am not a skier but went up just for the experience. Parking was very easy and put in a couple of pounds into the honesty box (donations) for the upkeep. Didn't think the railway was particularly expensive at £10.50 return, if you pay £6 odd extra on the day... More

Loved it. Snow was as near perfect as it could get in May. Facilities were superb (although changing rooms would be the cherry on the top), food at the Ptarmigan was average, but thats not the reason to be there. Just a great place to experience, regardless of season or weather.

We have often visited and used the funicular to gain access to the top of the mountain - each time having a positive and enjoyable experience so when having family visiting we felt it appropriate to take them to see the amazing views and this time round we also had our 2 week old son with us in his pushchair... An institution of course but definitely on my agenda for every visit to the area. Not cheap to use the funicular railway but no complaints as I don't fancy the walk! Incredible amount of snow still on display last week.

I am a full time wheelchair user and could not have been locked after better. You get taken by the train driver through a different entrance and get to sit at the front of the carriage which gives some of the best views in the Highlands. The actual railway is a superb piece of engineering. The restaurant at the top... More
