Going to Roundstone is well worth the drive - beautiful lakes and rivers all the way to the bay and then gorgeous scenery there! Take this drive, you won't regret it!
Park the car along the main street of Roundstone and take the walk up the hill starting on the lane alongside O'Dowds where you can get a coffee (though it might not be as smiling a service as you might expect). It's a smashing walk and the views from even halfway up are spectacular.
A lovely, charming village. A picture postcard Irish village. O'Dowds is a good pub to stop for lunch.

roundstone is a lovely fishing village on the south shore of connemara. it has excellent restaurants (we stopped at ryan's for a lengthy sit and eating), which are useful after a hard hike up errisbeg which has great views.
i have visited the community of roundtone and the surrounding areas of connemara many times.the people are the friendliest you could hope to meet the craic is neverending and there are so many places to see the scenery is stunning but its the people you go back for
