Tatty, expensive and generally poor service in the restarants. Staff genuinely have no interest in customer satiafaction. Waste of time!

Chinatown is absolutely excellent. You can choose from so many restaurants where some serve just all you can eat buffets to separate dishes or set menu's. Some are dearer than others but we just went in the one with the most local people, we knew then the food would be good & it was. Would deffo return :)
Good selection of shopping and 2 bakeries and plenty of all you can eat buffets, sushi cafes, anime shops and karioki bars allow for all tastes. A good history and layout of the china town aswell.
It might look disappointing at first but you need to look closer. There's more than meets the eye in this tiny neighbourhood that is revealed during the Chinese New Year. The spirit of Chinatown, however, is there all year round - it just needs a little bit of exploration and that's what I enjoy the most about this place.
Had expected something similar to London but blink and you will miss it. No atmosphere and almost has a sleezy feel about it and doesn't get high marks for cleanliness either. Had planned on having a good meal there but nowhere looked particularly inviting and prices seemed to be really high so spent 5 mins there and moved on. Wouldn't...

Really comes alive at Chinese New Year when there's processions and stuff. Other times, there's restaurants, shops etc
Ate in restaurant in china-town and it was disappointing, it was like we were not welcome. Service was very poor and everyone's meals arrived wrong and at different times, with some cold and some lukewarm. Had to wait ages to get a drink and there were no prawn crackers or anything like that appetizers wise whilst we awaited our food....

It was okay. Nothing to rave about. We had a meal at I think the Hot Chillie or the Red Chillie or something. That was good.
As you'd expect, lots of opportunities to buy anything and everything which has a 'Far East' feel. The restaurant Yang Sing was once voted the top Chinese restaurant in the U.K. There is a vibrancy to the area and it is particularly exciting during Chinese New Year.
Chinese, Thai, Malaysian Restaurants abound. Great for inexpensive meals and buffets lunchtime. Chinese and Far East Supermarkets make this a special place. Said to be the largest UK Chinatown outside London and an unbelieveable Chinese Arch
