With more great pubs / restaurants popping up here, it is getting busier. Canal and the open space is always a great retreat from the hustle and bustle in city center (only 10 minutes walk away!)

One of the most beautiful city districts in the UK. The Victorian iron arches, Industrial viaducts and sleepy canals make this a fascinating and relaxing urban realm. The Trains and trams passing overhead are a reminder you are still within a bustling city, however Castlefield maintains its own relaxing charm.

It is really a nice place with a few good bars and restaurants. It is lovely to walk around the canals and absorb the atmosphere. Hop off at the Deansgate/Castlefield tram stop on the Altrincham service and you will be in the middle of it in a few mins.

A little bit of peace in the middle of a busy city centre. Lovely. Take a book, relax and enjoy the sights, sounds but most of all enjoy the good company around this sanctuary.

Cool place to hang out . Nice break from the city but it is bang in the centre. Very individual area. Always lots of stuff going on from street theatre to festivals. Nice bars and restaurants by the canals. Well worth a visit for a different view of Manchester
