Wonderful building in a great setting at the Salford Quays, which are lovely in themselves.
Lowry exhibition is a real eye-opener as he had terrific skills in portrait painting and styles other than the famous "matchstick men". Mary McCartney exhibition is brilliant. Staff are all helpful and friendly, the gift shops have fair prices and very attractive goods, and the...

none of us is or was artistic but we had a lot of pleasure seeing what this man has created for us to enjoy everything so simple and yet so complex
basic exhibition of Lowry and Mary Macarthy prints. Not a lot for younger children to do I think they would find it boring.Staff appear friendly. Not a up lifting place I find.
Lots of fun stuff lots of serious stuff. I go with my daughter and she loves it. Just running around the place with all the slopes and steps and bright colours. They do kids stuff there too its fasb. The kids drawing/play area is really cool. we spent hours there.
The term The Lowry I find as cheesy and cliched as the Olympics "chance of a lifetime" The Lowry :( is a shopping centre theatre and exhibition non of which inspires. For me the biggest disappointment next to the financial colapse of the banks and in turn the country europe and the world.
I never realised just how good a painter Lowry was. This new museum presents his pictures without fuss, and with helpful and interesting information. Well worth a visit.
Love this place, even my children enjoy it; beautiful building, friendly staff. Lots of easy to understand, interesting information, never tire of wandering around it.
Brief visit to the Lowry centre as I was in the area. Can't really comment about the centre in general but the small Lowry exhibition is certainly worth a visit. He appears to have been an absolutely fascinating person and the exhibition of his quirky and unique art is good.
Probably the largest collection in the world of paintings by Lowery. It also affords biographical information about the local artist
