This is a former police station and they've revamped it to a very exciting museum. Old vehicles and costumes, old interiors as well many photographs are taking you way back in the time. It's very easy to walk to as they're in the city centre

Much more fun than I expected. Very enjoyable 90 minutes, the cells and the original magistrates' courtroom, moved here from Denton, are the highlights for me. The free iPhone App is also a great guide to the museum. Download it from iTunes before you go.

Had a great day.spent a couple of hours looking round the original police station on Newton street in Manchester city centre. Great exhibits, from transport to police uniforms through the ages, the original Victorian cells. To an original courthouse. Staff very informative and helpful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Lots of exhibits old and not so old, Cells and Charge Office/Room a real look into the past. Many Old Timers "Retired Bobbies" giving their slant on Policing in bye gone years. Set in an old police station this is a great little free museum. We visited the museum with our two grandsons aged seven and four (soon to be five). As other posters have commented, it is staffed with very friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, many of whom are ex police. Found this museum on here ... Never heard of it before! Really good from start to finish. Enthusiastic volunteers ... Really informative. Great for kids... They learnt lots. A gem.
