Didn't see the interior but the castle is imposing from the outside with its drawbridge and turrets. It is the centre of this lovely little French village - a good spot to have lunch or afternoon refreshments as there are several nice restaurants and tearooms.

Great town for a base to many chateaus. Be careful driving, there is an odd sometimes one way street..when the light is red stop, wait, eventually turns green.

There is an interesting tableau telling the story, in various languages including English, of the marriage between Anne of Brittany and Charles VIII. From the many chataux I've visited, this is probably my favourite so far. It's a fun and interesting combination of a defensive castle with appropriate location and features, but also the more modern grandeur with decorated rooms and interesting French history. The Chateau de Langeais is very imposing and well worth a visit, we have some beautiful photographs from that day and history is fascinating.

Off the beaten path of most regular tourist locations, Château de Langeais is a visit you will not soon forget. Even in the bitter cold of winter, it was well worth a visit to this château. Wonderful tapestries, paintings and woodworking make you realize there is much to discover in France.

This seems to be a little known chateau on the tourist route... the castle is classic and imposing. The treat is the adventure playground in the grounds intself. Ropes, tree houses, slides etc. All good fun for the family.
